According to the TFS (Tennis Federation of Serbia’s) doctor, Novak Djokovic is definitely going to withdraw from the US Open. This is the first time since 2005 that Novak Djokovic is missing a grand slam. He is also losing his winning streak to at least won a grand slam in a season since 2011. He has won US Open two times and was runner up in five other occasions. He was runner up in US Open last year too, lost by Stan Wawrinka.
Novak Djokovic was forced to retire with an elbow injury in the quarter finals of Wimbledon. It had been affecting him for more than a year and half. Djokovic will need rehab on his elbow and still wants to avoid surgery. Djokovic is also expecting his second child in the next few weeks.
